My favorite part of the CHA Craft Super Show are the Make N Takes! Many are free, some range from $1 to $5. They are a great mini crash course in learning new skills!
I loved making everything. However, I became very fascinated with my decoupage "Baby" mini journal! It was quite relaxing to do and I love the idea of taking different paper textures and texts to embellish anything! Besides, it reminded me of being in the third grade.
Next I made this T-shirt with silk screen transfers! I thought this was so cool. The transfer can be used up to 20 times and be used by adults as well as children.
The first item I made was this tag. I chose the letter R for Raghouse International! This was a fun project as well and very easy to do...
Now, I am finding that machinery is not as relaxing as using pure hand power. I did try my hand with a button maker and created this fabric covered button. It's a little lopsided, but nonetheless it was cool!
I painted this R at the Joann's booth, brought it home, slapped a magnet on it and now it resides on my fridge.
This idea I really liked. It's a corner page holder. You can use this as a bookmark by inserting it on the corner of whatever page you are reading. This way you don't have to fold down pages and ruin them.
Next, I made this bangle and went rhinestone crazy. I love anything that sparkles! This was a very neat idea as well. Wooden bangles covered in strips of paper and embellished however you like.
This was made for me at a booth that sold glitter, stamping, and embossing materials. She used a glue pen, sprinkled glitter everywhere, and voila! There was my name...A very cool way to spice up an original greet card or a purchased one.
Okay so I didn't make this scarf, but I bought it for $1 from a yarn supply booth. I loved the colors. The cream woven part comes on a roll and the different yarns are woven in between each square. Now that was really cool to me.
As you can see, I had a blast making many wonderful items and learning new skills. I will definitely continue on with these new hobbies.
Sincerely,
Renaissance M. Austin
